We had a lovely stay at this hotel and couldnt think of staying anywhere else if we went back to Cavtat and Dubrovnik. We went to Lapad and Dubrovnik (only 30 min away with taxi) and Im so glad we chose to stay in Cavtat! Its beautiful and cozy.

Breakfast was really good. We swedes have high expectations regarding breakfast and you wont get disappointed here! Nice staff, clean facilities and big spaces everywhere. The restaurant Spinaker was great to.

Hotel room (Deluxe) was a delight with the most fantastic sea view. Keep in mind that all the sea view rooms are facing the sun. Meaning, enjoying the balcony for recreation, reading, playing cards etc is not an option before sunset if temperatures are high!

Theres only one pool and the area is very small given that the hotel has 487 rooms. To me it felt crowded and a bit claustrophobic, but you can stay in the shade here. There are two beach areas, one on the cliffs (wonderful, but not for disabled) and one in the harbour. I loved hanging out on the cliffs and then a short stair walk to get into the Adriatic sea. Limited number of sun chairs though and when its windy, parasolls becomes a hazard when the wind "takes" them...

My warmest recommendations for this place and hotel. And book a private boat tour (with skipper Lovro) at guest relations. Best decision and excursion ever!

We had a wonderful week in hotel Croatia a really wonderful hotel in Cavtat. It’s a lovely property in an excellent position over looking the harbour. They hotel provides a buggy to take guests down near the sun loungers and the town saving precious steps up of downhill. The staff are all wonderful and helpful. The breakfast buffet has every option as did the dinner but to be honest we just didn’t find the food hot enough. It was a little cooler than preferred. Although we paid for dinner we did choose to pay for the steakhouse a number of nights just because it was better quality. It too was a lil hit and miss with temp of sides. Honestly I think investing in better hot plates would make this hotel amazing. The rooms are amazing with everything you could need and wonderful staff and fantastic options for laying in the sun, many places to choose from.

A 5 star property, let down heavily by disenfranchised staff and lacking the 5* attention to client care and hospitality.

+Stunning location, real estate, views, potential

-smoking permitted everywhere except inside rooms but people were smoking on the balconies so this smell went into the rooms.
-staff are not particularly warm (reception and bar)
-food overpriced and poor quality
-shower runs between scalding and freezing
-breakfast not well serviced given 5* status, when entering for the first time no-one explains where to sit etc.
-noisy rooms (from adjacent cleaning and hotel services)
-bottle of water given on the first day but no daily top up.

Having travelled the world, this does not match 5* accommodation....a shame as could be a truly special place if they improved on some basics. We stayed in a 4 star in Croatia and this felt more 5 Star than this hotel.
