Untrustworthy. No notification until 10:03 AM on morning of checkout that checkout time had changed to 11 AM two weeks ago. Room door information still says 12 PM. Checkout time has been Noon for *over 40 years*, so not something I would even think to look at or ask about, and definitely something staff *knows* they should mention, especially to long-time, regular guests. $50 charged for extension to 12:00 PM despite a request for a one-time grace period. Though Ive stayed at this hotel over 150 times because I liked the kind of old-fashioned low-key comfort, I will absolutely be looking hard at more hospitable alternatives from now on.

For the price point, it’s a totally fine hotel. Seems like they’re trying to make it more hip but it feels pretty old. The room was big but there was nothing special about it. Some small touches to make you feel luxurious would have been nice. But it’s a standard motel-type room. Old furniture and very basic amenities. One thing that I did not like was there was no way to turn on the bathroom light without also turning on a very loud fan. Hard to relax in the bathtub with that fan going. The location is great. Very close to restaurants and theaters. Would I stay here again? Maybe. The price is okay but you also feel like you’re staying in a cheap hotel. There’s a sweet spot for these kind of hotels where they keep the prices low but give you the illusion you’re staying in a nicer place. This place did not do that.
