The Belvedere Hotel is a really pretty, older hotel. Its very easy to access by bus or subway if you are able to walk a block or two. There are many good restaurants within easy walking distance. We stayed here bc we saw a show at New World Stages, which is a very easy walk & very accessible for those with physical disabilities.
As usual for a mobility impaired person, the room as not as accessible as it should be despite being an "accessible" room. NYC really tries though even when a building is grandfathered in. If totally in a wheelchair, you would not be able to get around in the room. For the bathroom, the shower chair did not fold down anymore. It needs replaced (#509), but they brought me a portable shower chair when I asked. The shower curtain needs to be weighted down better or a heavier curtain. It floated around my legs--dangerous for me--and it didnt totally keep water in. I was being careful and the door & floor still got soaked. The drains in the bathroom floor could use cleaning out. They made the room smell bad at times & had a few drainflies. Overall, the room was spotless & the staff was so helpful. I really liked the location & the actual hotel. Id stay here again & I rarely say that bc most dont meet my accessibility needs at all. I really hope they can address the shower curtain, shower chair, & drains.
Thank you to the amazing staff for all the assistance--esp with the electric wheelchair I rented!

This is a beautiful hotel with modern amenities and very comfortable beds, however, there were a few problems that were hard to comprehend. One elevator was out of service, so it was EXTREMELY difficult to get up from, and down to the lobby!!! Service elevators were made available to the guests, but during the day the staff had exclusive use to them. In this entire huge hotel, there is only one ice machine available on the lobby level in the business center, REDICULOSE!!!!!!! Two of the three days of my stay, it was out of order!
