My go to place while visiting my mother. Lots of space and able to prepare my own meals. Will be back.

The staff were extremely helpful and kind which we appreciated

Dog friendly

We stayed at the Diplomat many many years ago, and I don’t think anything had changed. Looked very out dated.

Room cold, towels damp. Dog barking from inside room next door, unclear whether our room was a dog room.

Such lovely staff!

Dated but value for money

Whilst the room was clean this is a very basic budget hotel. It is not a 3 star more like a 1-2 star. The room was very dated and shabby with 60s vanity in the bathroom and shower curtain. The room smelt a bit but this improved when airing. If you just want somewhere to base yourself then it’s fine but if you want some comforts stay elsewhere. Great location though

Handy position in Christchurch but motel quite run down. Needs renovating and made more welcoming.

Well the older everything was well kept functional and the net was well-stocked sheets and linens were clean and that was very comfortable.
