The Best Reasonable Sushi near Arashiyama

Are you going to Arashiyama for Sakura viewing or Autumn Leaves? How about reasonable, still the best Sushi lunch or dinner on the way or back there? Let me introduce YUKISUHI. It’s one of the best Sushi in Kyoto for its price range.

Jyo-Nigiri (premium Nigiri) comes with eight pieces: Toro (fatty tuna), Ikura (salmon roe), Maguro (lean tuna), Herring Roe, Sea Eel, Red Snapper, Shrimp and Squid. All the fish here is super fresh, generously cut thick and carefully prepared. Everything is so good that I ordered more after finishing my 8 pieces of Jyo-Nigiri. What’s remarkable here is their Toro. Some sushi places have good quality sushi with mediocre Toro. However, Toro at Yukisushi is a top quality and it’s a must to order.

I love eating out, but I don’t go to random Sushi restaurants because many places do not list the price on their menu and that scares me, and my not-so-fat wallet. However, all sushi prices are clearly listed at Yukisushi and that’s another reason why I love this place. Here is the price list to make you secure:
Nigiri (8pcs) 1300JPY
Jyo-Nigiri (8pcs) 2000JPY
Bottled Beer 550JPY / Draft Beer 550JPY
Cold Sake 700JPY/ Little Sake 450JPY / Big Sake 900JPY
A La Carte Menu has no price listed. But, I believe those dishes were around 1000JPY.

Here is how you get there. Go to Hankyu Railway Kamikatsura (上桂) station. Exit from the west exit and go straight to Yamadaguchi (山田口) intersection. Make right. Go straight to north on the road about 8 minutes. After you pass the Gas station on your left, make right at the first light and go across the train crossing. Immediately, you will see a white apartment complex on your right. Yukisushi is on the ground floor in that building.

One last tip. They often get full with the reservations. So, try to get there as they open and you’d likely be able to have seats until the place gets full. I hope you get to taste the best authentic sushi that they serve.
