We stayed only one night. Really nice hotel, wish it could have been longer. Do yourselves a favour - book suite 7. Triplex type of arrangement, terrace with loungers and a hot tub on top floor. It’s ann absolute suntrap and feels miles away from the hustle n bustle below. Will go again.

We had an incredible time - rooftop hot tub with the cathedral right next door was a must!

There are hotels who abuse the word luxury in their descriptions and unfortunately this hotel is one of them. The only positive i can pick was the quality and the comfort of the bed linen. Everything else was average including the toiletries in the bathroom which were refilled and the squeeze mechanisms didnt work as it was overused and could not squeeze the liquids. The walls were paper thin and i felt like someone was in my room talking but it was a room next door. Breakfast was something i would rather forget and not write about it. The bathroom was damaged by moisture as there was no natural ventilation and no exhaust fan. The moisture and smells sit in the bathroom, nowhere to escape.

Casa Ellul is a small gem with an excellent restaurant. The chef was able to devise an outstanding dinner for us based on our vegan requirements. The staff were extraordinarily helpful, even coming around a tea time with treats. The location is in the historic part of Valleta but is still very quiet. Recent renovations have restored the character of the building with a modern touch.

I definitely expected more from this hotel. Having stayed in other Small Luxury Hotels, this one was a disappointment.
The location was great and The View off the balcony was fantastic. My check-in was great, but the next day the front desk person didnt really understand or speak English. When I asked if he could speak any other languages he said only English. He was kind, respectful, and tried to be as helpful as possible, but it was very frustrating trying to communicate.
Finally, we left in a hurry and so I left behind an article of clothing. I called them up and told them what it was and where it was. There was no question in my mind whether or not I had left it and I told them exactly where I had left it. Nonetheless, despite multiple phone calls, I was told that I had left nothing behind and tough luck because housekeeping must be telling the truth. Shameful for such a hotel.

this boutique Hotel earns every one of the stars and positive feedback it gets. The physical setting and location were exquisite. The staff made the whole experience a 10 out of 10.

Casa Ellul is an exceptional gem in Malta, and my stay there was nothing short of delightful. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, blending modern luxury with historic charm. Every detail is thoughtfully curated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

However, what truly sets Casa Ellul apart is its outstanding staff. Rand and Fiona were particularly fabulous, going above and beyond to ensure that our experience was unforgettable. Their hospitality and attention to detail made us feel right at home, providing personalized recommendations and making every interaction memorable.

Overall, while the hotel is a wonderful retreat, it’s the dedicated and caring staff that made our stay extraordinary. I highly recommend Casa Ellul for anyone looking to experience the best of Malta.
