We live in Auckland and decided to use a free Hotels.com reward night locally. We chose Cordis and so glad that we did. The room had recently been refurbished to a high standard and the outdoor pool was perfect for a sunny Saturday afternoon (complete with cocktail and fries!). Don’t be put off by the location away from downtown - there are so many cool shops, bars and restaurants up this end (big shout out to Gemmayze St restaurant and Lowbrow Bar in St Kevin’s Arcade only five unites walk away!)

1. When we entered the room, we found a happy birthday in someone elses name with wine & chocolates
2. Shower gel and body lotion bottles were empty.
3. The concierge booked us whiskey tasting on thursday and gin tasting on friday, but when we went to the bar, we were told it was a mistake. They will let us as a favour.

A birthday trip for a night out in Auckland. The weather was good and the check in totally seamless. The entrance was clogged up with cars and Uber rides but we were able to unload without too much hassle. There is a feeling of things not quite being as luxe as before with some things not quite the same. The rooms are clean and the bathrobe welcome however someone had messed up the colour on the TV which was not ideal. The spa was more crowded than we usually see and the steam room cooler than normal or maybe I just dont know how things work anymore. Still loved it and will be back. Forever hopeful.

Well worth the stay - as there were so many extra benefits at no extra cost for our children, such as a kids pack with activities, fairy floss, ice cream and a pool. There were also nearby car parks, that we could draw on & also notified of that we’re least expensive than the on-site valet
