Good location, neat hotel, friendly staff

The room was clean, roomy, and quiet. It had a really nice desk as well.

Good hotel but:
It was during the heat wave in July and even if the AC was set to minimum the room was still warm. A ventilator was already in my room and it helped but would have slept faster and better if I was able to get the room to be cooler.

2nd negatives is the gym which has only cardio, no free weight, bench or weight machine.

Rest is A-1

Terrible WiFi and also we faced a WiFi outage. Mattress was old, bad and needs to be replaced. Toilet flushes don’t work properly. For this price there were plenty of other options. We trusted the Crown Plaza brand and were very disappointed.

Room was clean and well equipped but could do with a little upgrade. Bed was a tad creekie. Felt it smelt a bit of dampness and there were some small clothes moths in room.

Location for what we needed was good.

Bar staff took a while to serve. However all in all an ok hotel

Air conditioning was not working in our room during our stay.

I have been traveling for over 30 years and never encountered so many technical issues at once. When we arrived the A/C wasn’t working. They sent maintenance which vacuumed the A/C and then after an hour it was cooler but not really cool. Not sure why there was no preventive measures taken before, knowing it was a hot day. Then we had issues with getting bath towels. Every time we had to call housekeeping. Same issue with cups and coffee. And then on the last evening we could not enter our room. We were told the lock was broken. They had to drill a hole and change the lock. We just went out without changing clothes. When we came back everything was fixed. The last day, 2 of the 3 elevators did not work which is quite annoying when you have to carry suitcases. On a positive note, when we did contact the staff they were always trying to help.

Overall, a nice stay. Good location for hopping on different bus lines and a short walk to catch the tube at Kings Cross. We were there during a heatwave and the air-conditioning in our room couldnt keep up, unfortunately. But, hard to complain when so many are without A/C altogether.

Would recommend this hotel

Room was clean , but had no AC. When we called the staff , they said it wasn’t working and provided one fan for a double room which was a appalling as it was amber heat wave warning during this time in London .
I think they knew well in advance that this was the issue as we could see the fan was permanently fixed , but they made no prior attempts to get this sorted out or inform us when we checked in .
