Enjoy some reasonably- priced lunch at a high-end restaurant near Heian Gingu Shrine.

Having stood still in the vicinity of Okazaki area since 1899, this restaurant has single-mindedly preserved the delicious Kyoto Cuisine even with good appeals to the eyes for people.
Located in the east corner of Kyoto City 700 meters away from Higashiyama Station, Kyoto City Metro, it’s almost ten minutes’ walk.

There is a canal in front of ROKUSEI, with some boats for pleasure floating in the daytime.
There also are Nanzenji Temple, in 20 minutes’ walk, Kyoto Municipal Museum, Kyoto National Museum, except Heian Jingu Shrine.
Since they have 250 seats in all, five private rooms and two banquet rooms, we can have lunch in groups provided we’ve booked the seats beforehand.

When Kyoto people hear the name ROKUSEI, the first thing that comes to mind is Teoke Bento, which is the specialty ROKUSEI serves.
It contains such Japanese-style flavored food as
grilled fish, rolled egg, simmered vegetables, boiled shrimp, and so on.
Teoke literally means a small bucket or pail made of Japanese cedar wood.
It costs 3,240 JPY.
If you add Teoke Bento to Tempura, it costs 4,104 JPY.
If you add Teoke Bento to Omi Beef, it costs 5,940 JPY.
The menus are renewed every month and according to annual events.
It’s a great place to experience the changing of the seasons.

They also have dinner menus.
We can have Kaiseki Ryori, table d’hote, at 7,560 JPY and more than that.

There is a café in the restaurant, too.
Their regular day off is Monday.
The staffs speak English with the menu in English.
