Amazing panoramic views of Shirakawa-go

  • Historic / Cultural Experiences

You can see panoramic views of Shirakawa-go from Shiroyama and Ogimachi observatory decks.

The two observatory decks are very close, only a few minutes between them but they both offer a different view.
They are on a hill. It takes from ten to twenty minutes by foot but there shuttle buses too.

There is a restaurant near Shiroyama observatory deck. So, we can eat, drink and take a break there. Shiroyama observatory deck is in the site of the restaurant.
If you go down a little, you will find Ogimachi observatory deck easily. It is also a very famous spot.
After that, you should go back by foot, if the weather condition is good because the view is beautiful.

At the base of the hill near the shuttle bus station, there is the biggest gassho style house, called Wadake. It is also one of spots you must visit. And, if you pay an admission fee, you can see the inside and some exhibitions in the house.
