Enjoy exclusive landscape of Mt. Fuji!

  • Hot Springs

The popular destination, Hakone attracts many tourists, partly because they can enjoy Onsen (hot spring) with a view of Mt. Fuji. I’d like to tell you it is not only for Hakone. The facility called Otainai Onsen is a day-visit hot-spring facility located in a quiet and beautiful natural park, called Otainai Seikouen in Gotemba city, which is just about one hour away from Hakone.

Otainai means “human womb” in Japanese and the lava cave having rooms inside and similar to the shape of womb was named after this. It was created after the last eruption of Mt. Fuji in 1707. It was designated as Japan’s Natural Monument. You can go into the cave to explore it. Please bring a flashlight with you!

In the Otainai Seikouen Park, various kinds of flowers bloom in each season, such as cherries, azaleas and colored leaves. Many wild birds and alpine trees can be seen as well. It is a place for refreshment walking through a lush ever green canopy of over 100-year old oak trees.

People can enjoy the hot spring gushing out in the forest on the foot of Mt. Fuji as a blessing from nature. It will be a great appreciation!
