  • Special Recommendations

Odori literally means “large street”. So it is quite reasonable that many Japanese hear the name of Odori Park, their image would be like the one with crowds and transportation running heavily. Of course Odori Park charms many people, but as a park located very centre of the city, it is frequently visited by various type of person, including sightseeing tourist. Moreover, Odori Park has another face throughout the year---as a huge event space.

Snow Festival, Lilac Festival, Yosakoi, Beer Garden, October-fest, Munich Christmas Markets and so on ---there are the events that take place annually at Odori Park. Yet as it was originally organized for the street for the fire prevention, long and straight Odori Park is very comfortable place to walk through even if there is no special attraction. (Actually, in the summer season, there open many corn stall, which offer you one of the most notable Hokkaido taste! )

Odori Park also a pivot of address in Sapporo, which separates main area of the city into Kita(north)and Minami south). And Tourist Information Centres are easy to be found, including the one located underground. So if you like to call on the attractions in Sapporo on foot, Odori Park can be useful in two ways---start point and final destination of your exciting tour.
